Case Study : Tycho
Brahe Planetarium, Copenhagen, Denmark
Working with Barco, 7thSense
designed & commisioned a dual
HD server with over 1 hour of
stereo storage, for display on
4 Barco Galaxy projectors.The
brief was to upgrade the Tycho
Brahe IMAX Planetarium in Denmark
with a world leading fully stereoscopic
system. The Tycho Brahe Planetarium
features an impressive 23 metre
dome and is Denmark's most advanced
centre for popularizing astronomy
and space research.
The upgrade comprises a two channel
passive stereo configuration using
4 Barco GALAXY 12+ 3-chip DLP
projectors equipped with state
of the art INFITEC (Interference
Filter Technology) stereo technology
and the 7thSense Delta Media Server
providing high-end playback.
This system configuration together
with stunning nWave 3D content
immerses the audience in a breathtaking
3D experience.

The
7thSense Delta Media Server system
consists of a high performance 19"
hardware PC and lower cost back
up server which hosts the proprietary
Delta software.
This cost effective playback system
streams a stereoscopic show by serving
two full Hi-Def (1920 x 1080) movies,
one for each eye, at full frame
rate together with 5.1 audio all
from just one Delta rack. Delta
is fully integrated with the existing
show control system, which provides
a customised user-friendly interface.
