Case Study 1 -
Terminal 5 Heathrow |
In April 2008, Heathrow's prestigious
Terminal 5 opened to the public, with
comprehensive duty free shopping courtesy
of World Duty Free. 7thSense worked
with Holovis, the main AV contractor,
to provide 96 channels of full-motion
media serving onto 5 separate plasma
arrays.
The 3 larger plasma arrays had 24
channels each, arranged in abstract
geometric patterns, with 4 low cost
Delta Matrix Mode PCs employed to
provide 24 channels of graphics output.
Delta was configured using its comprehensive
display matching ability, providing
the content creator with a single,
large rectangular canvas covering
the whole display, but internally
rearranging the imagery in realtime
to match the plama's orientation and
position.

This scheme was successfully transferred
to the 5 separate, multi-channel displays,
with each system internally synchronised
to provide a single, ultra high resolution,
full motion video.
Holovis (www.holovis.com)
tightly integrated Delta with their own
Jupiter control system which provides
remote content management, scheduling,
reporting and configuration control from
outside the terminal in order to provide
the high uptime demanded by the customer.
